A typescript case report for a phrenological reading of the character and mental development of Margaret King. "Somewhere you ought to voice your thought, for your talking talent as an outlet would perhaps be the best channel in which to express yourself, some can construct a steam ship, another a beautiful instrument, another a loom that almost talks but they are good for nothing at talking they build their thoughts by painting them on canvass or some other construction, you would paint your thoughts in words either with the pen or tongue." Bound in illustrated printed wrappers, secured at top by two metal clasps. Inner upper wrapper contains "Principles of phrenology" text. Inner lower wrapper describes and advertises "Character from photographs". Outer lower wrapper has illustrated phrenological head and names of the faculties, from S.R. Wells' "New physiognomy".
